Late report on my New York trip!

When I'm in New York, I usually go to art exhibitions or just walk and observe everything around me and imbibe the atmosfere of the city. Everybody knows - new york is special When I'm there I feel the confidence of everything that surrounds me: people, buildings, pavement, trees, dogs, flowers even new york bums are confident in themselves .. Well that's not really what this post is about. This post is about amazing and gorgeus show-windows of Bergdorf Goodman! That's something! People were stopping to stare at these masterpieces.

Here are some pictures

The theme of deer in interior design

I'm browsing through a lot of design blogs every day and there are certain decorative elemnts in todays interiors that begin to annoy me a little bit one of them is an image of a deer. I cant figure it out, why deers have become so trendy?? It's getting even more common then images of skulls! I can understand, why skulls seemed to be so cool. Because skull is a simbol of rock n roll style of life, skulls were on flags of pirate ships... but why deer? What's so cool about the deers?? Maybe now country way of life is becoming popular, people are trying to be closer to the wildlife? maybe "deer design" is a branch of eco design? But I dont think that having a deer had on the wall is very "eco".
Well.. anyway here are some examples of what I'm talking about)

Back to Russia

I'm back to Russia for uncertain period of time. Even though I miss my honey , who stayed in US , I'm still happy to be here. I thought it would be hard to adjust to Russian reallity after 5 month in US, but when I got here I felt like I had never left...
It's so happy meeting with my family and friends!

Late report on Halloween and Autumn

My first fall in America. It's warmer longer and brighter than in Russia. It's different. First Autumn after 15 years without studying. First Autumn without my parents and friends. First Autumn with my love... I'm happy and sad at the same time. I'm remembering my childhood, I can't believe that it's over, and I can't believe than there can be something better then childhood. I'm not old, I'm young, I'm 23.. And it is time to think how to live my life, it is a little bit late, but it is never too late.. Autumn always makes me think about my life and and makes me wanna start something you. For me autumn is not the end, it is not fading it was always the beginning of school beginning of doing something after summer relaxation
Here are some of my Autumn pictures

Unwanted paitings

I'm remembering a conversation with two people from the horror movie convention - husband and wife, who were both into some mystic ghost stuff and who were telling me and Jared how they got married in Savannah, GA in a house settled with ghosts and when they printed their wedding pictures, some unwanted guests showed up on them.  I dont really believe in ghosts and unwanted guests, but after working on my art stuff, I often find unwanted paintings, which appear on my table or my apron ;) So i want to share some of them with you

History of art

I guess I miss my art history lessons.. So I decided to refresh different art ages in my head.  To make it more interesting each art age will be represented by woman portrait

These are just several art styles that came to my mind.. And as I got closer to our time, I questioned myself, if there are any categories of contemporary art? Can anybody think of any? Has anybody came up with new "ISMS"?

For example.. How should I call this?
Bernard Pras

or this

Meredith Ditmar

or this?

Gino Rubert

Surreal Parade

Last Saturday me and Jared went to James Dean festival in Fairmont. James Dean is everything that Fairmount have. So I guess the day of the J. D. festival is the most important day of this little town. We came right in time for the parade, which started at 2 pm. Even though like I said - James Dean - is all that they can be proud off -  the parade included everything, but James Dean. It was a pretty surreal act. It included everything: police and fire cars, political candidates commercial, clowns, church choir, african drums group, Elvis impersonator, different social clubs, symphonic orchestra, truck filled with local country musicians, bikers, old cars.. and more and more and more.. So even though it wasn't someth, that was well-planned and rehearsed it impressed me a lot with it's colorfulness frankness..
